An Eco-friendly Artists Bush Lodge for the ideal gap year and wildlife art camp

The artists bush lodge and volunteer accommodation is really special! Consisting of thatched roof, wooden chalets with large gauze covered windows and roll down sides. Rooms are shared with one other person.

The art camp is set in a riverine area with lush indigenous trees. You will awaken each morning to the different sights, sounds and smells of the bush - beautiful sunrises from your bedroom window, birds and lions calling, insects buzzing and the wonderful feeling of being in nature.

The showers and Western-style toilets are located close to the rooms. They are open-air structures with running water - hot water is provided by "fire-geysers". Taking a shower under the stars contributes to the overall African experience.

A decked area with a thatched roof and open sides forms the art studio where the Wildlife Art Courses take place. Relax in the elevated bar/lounge area or when it is hot during the glorious summer months, cool off in the quaint splash pool. For those keen on game viewing and scenic sketching there is a hide overlooking a waterhole close to the camp for the ultimate tranquillity.

There is no electricity at the art camp - solar lighting, gas and paraffin lanterns are used. You will most likely find the rustic lifestyle of the artists bush lodge peaceful and enjoyable - especially at night when the camp transforms into a fairyland offering the ideal artistic retreat.

Enjoy the evenings sitting around the campfire with a cold drink while chatting to fellow gap year volunteers and fellow artists after a hard day.
